Visakhapatnam: Perfect synchronisation of group performance enthralled the audience in the ongoing Vysakhi Nrityotsav the 6th edition of All India Classical Dance Festival conducted under the aegis of Nataraj Music and Dance Academy at Kalabharathi Auditorium on Saturday.
Former cricket captain Sourav Ganguly’s wife Dona Ganguly kept the audience spell-bound with her artistic performance in the Odisssi dance. She thrilled the audience with her team performance and started with a beat called ‘Pallavi in Rag Arabhi’. It depicted the how the temple dance transformed into a classical art form ‘Jthayu Moksha’ a story from Ramayana. Sanchitha Lahoti from Bangalore astonished the gathering with her Kathak expressions.
Roopa Kiran who flew from Hong Kong to perform Bharathanatyam presented a scintillating show. The organisers conferred ‘Natya Sri’ titles on Dona Ganguly, Roopa Kiran and Padmasri Gopal Prasad Dubey. Andhra University V-C GSN Raju, Bathina Vikram Goud, president of Vysakhi Nritotsav, chief pattern of the Utsav O Naresh Kumar were present at the event.
