Karimnagar: Finance Minister Eatala Rajender directed the officials to lay the pipelines of drinking water under Mission Bhagiratha, 1.5 meters below from the surface of the ground that would last for another 50 to 60 years.

The Minister said that the government was investing thousand crores of rupees under Mission Bhagiratha to supply safe drinking water to the people living in the State.

The officials told to identify old and leakage water tanks in villages and construct new water tanks in their place. The engineers of concerned departments were told to check quality, thickness and durability of pipelines by visiting the pipeline manufacturing centres regularly.

The engineers of Mission Bhagiratha, R&B and Panchayat Raj department must complete the pipeline laying works without removing the earlier ones, by coordinating with each other, the Minister said.

Rajender suggested the officials to lay pipelines in villages depending on farmers’ the needs of the farmers of that village for every 100 meters.

Zilla Parishad Chairperson Tula Uma, MLA Gangula Kamalakar, District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed, City Mayor Ravinder Singh, Water Grid SE Srinivas Rao and R&B SE Satish were present along with other officials.
