People urged to keep surroundings clean: Jagtial Collector

Inaugurating the ‘2K Run’ from the Old High School to the New Bus Stand organised as part of the ‘Swachata Hi Seva’ celebrations, the District Collector urged the people to maintain personal hygiene by keeping the surroundings clean. It would lead to a healthy society, he added.

The officials of various departments, people’s representatives and students of several educational institutions were present in the 2K run along with representatives of voluntary organisations.

Dr Sharat said that cleanliness leads to development of the society which in turn leads to the development of the nation. Every household must have toilets and must utilise them, he pointed out.

There must be a change in people’s attitude regarding disposal of waste materials. They must discard the wastes in a systemic manner and take steps to maintain the surroundings clean and tidy, added the District Collector.

The Collector made the attendants to take a pledge of ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ on the occasion before inaugurating the 2K Run.

In-charge Joint Collector Mushraf Farooqi, District and Rural Development Agency Officer J Aruna Sri, District Panchayat Officer Rajanna, Assistant Project Director Lakshmi Narayana and M Ramesh were present along with others.
