Karimnagar: The ban on using loud speakers and Disk Jockey (DJ) sounds under commissionerate limits has been extended up to October 12, informed the Commissioner of Police V B Kamalasan Reddy here on Friday.

Commissioner Reddy said that to prevent sound pollution that creates nuisance to the students, the aged, diseased and small children, a ban was imposed on high sound systems like DJ sounds and loud speakers under the Commissionerare limits.

If it is compulsory to use loud speakers then the organisers who are conducting the programme must take a special permission from the Divisional Assistant Commissioner of Police concerned, he added.

There are limits on the usage of sound system and a limit has been placed on the high frequency levels in various localities.

Especially near hospitals and educational institutions, the range was of 100 meters and that too with precautions of preventing sound pollution, informed the Commissioner of Police.

He said that an awareness camp was already held for the owners on the usage of DJ sound systems. Under special circumstances, the ban that has been imposed was extended up to October 12.

Stringent actions would be taken against those who violate the rule and they would be booked under IPC 188 and Hyderabad City Police Law, warned Police Commissioner V B Kamalasan Reddy.till Oct 12, says CP
