He along with Peddapalli legislator Dasari Manohar Reddy paid homage by garlanding the statue of Ambedkar on his 61st death anniversary, at bus stand chowrastha in Peddapalli.
Speaking on the occasion the in-charge Collector said Dr B R Ambedkar wrote Constitution to the biggest democratic country in the world, India and paved way for the development of the nation.
Ambedkar strived hard for uplifting the weaker sections in the society and he was one of the best intellectuals appreciated by the entire world.
Following his footsteps, everyone must play a key role in the development of the nation, Prabhakar Reddy advised.Peddapalli MLA D Manohar Reddy said taking inspiration from Dr B R Ambedkar, many people of Telangana participated in the separate Telangana movement and achieved separate Statehood.
He wrote the constitution to save the rights of minorities by believing that decentralisation of power will help the poor to get benefitted with the developmental activities that occur.
Taking queue from this, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao reorganised the districts to establish new districts, mandals and divisions. The present day youth must take inspiration from him and participate in developmental activities, he advised.
In-charge District and Rural Development Officer Prem Kumar and other district officials paid floral tributes to Dr B R Ambedkar.
