Work in 3 shifts to meet Kaleswaram project deadline: KCR
The Chief Minister, K Chandrashekhar Rao, directed the irrigation officials and construction agencies to speed up the works related to the ongoing irrigation projects in the district.

The CM told them to carry out the works in three shifts to meet the deadline in completing the works. He wanted the works of Medigadda barrage under Kaleswaram lift irrigation to be completed by next June 30 to supply water to farmers.
He along with Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao and Finance Minister E Rajender and a host of senior officials inspected the progress of works in Jayashankar Bhupalapalli district on Thursday.
KCR arrived at Tupakulagudem from Karimnagar by helicopter and conducted an aerial survey at Tupakulagudem on the banks of river Godavari. Later, he inspected works at Tupakulagudem barrage, Medigadda barrage, Kannepally Pump House, Annaram barrage and pump house at Siripuram.
He interacted with the officials and enquired how the works were going on. The contracting agency officials informed the CM that at present works were being executed in a single shift. He advised them to execute works in three shifts as the government wants all the irrigation projects completed at the earliest.
Works related to the barrages, sub-stations, pump houses and canal works have to be carried out at the same time. The State government is ready to extend the required support for the construction of the projects, the CM told the contracting agency officials.
Similarly, the works of laying roads for the projects should be expedited so as to speed of the project works. A double lane bridge across Annaram barrage has to be constructed for better connectivity, Chandrashekar Rao noted.
The officials apprised the CM that 1132 metres of cofferdam was completed and the remaining 150 metres would soon be completed. Referring to the security measures at the project sites, the CM told DGP M Mahender Reddy to speak to the police officials in neighbouring states. The DGP informed the CM that tight security arrangements were made and the sites were being monitored with the help of drones.
