He chaired a review meeting with tahsildars and MPDOs to discuss the ongoing development works of dumping yards and burial grounds in the district, at the Collectorate conference hall here on Tuesday. Reddy directed the officials to maintain sanitation perfectly in the district to make ‘Swachh Peddapalli’.
The district administration has prepared proposals for the construction of about 201 dumping yards in the district and sanctioned 96 dumping yards, out of which the construction works of 17 were completed and the remaining are under the progress.
A district official informed the in-charge Collector that due to non-allotment of places, the construction works of a few dumping yards was remained pending. Some locations were allotted near to tanks while some others were full of stones where construction of dumping yards or burials grounds is not possible.
Responding to the officials, the in-charge Collector ordered the tahsildars of mandals concerned to allot a location by clubbing two or three villages as a group for constructing a large dumping yard and a burial ground.
Out of the prepared proposals of 132 burial grounds, the construction of 43 burial grounds is under progress. The in-charge Collector ordered the officials to visit the respective mandals and inspect the developmental works by resolving the problems immediately for completing the works within the prescribed time limit to make the district as Swachh Peddapalli.
The Rural Development Officer Padmaiah, in-charge District and Rural Development Officer Prem Kumar and District Panchayat Raj Officer Sudarshan, tahsildars and MPDOs were present along with others.
