Mancherial: The indefinite relay fast launched by CPI-ML (New Democracy) and Progressive Organisation for Women (PoW) has entered fourth day on Thursday.

New Democracy leader Srinivas and PoW leader Manga alleged that the ruling TRS leaders encroached government lands in the town and selling it to real estate dealers. The elected people’s representatives and officials were criticised for turning a blind eye as the land meant for poor was being encroached upon.

They demanded distribution of land among the homeless poor and sought construction of double bedroom houses for the poor. They appealed to the government to give at least one gunta to the homeless. Otherwise, they threatened to intensify the indefinite fast.

IFTU leaders Lal Kumar and Tirupati and CPI leaders Kalaveni Sankar and Mekala Dasu and local women took part in the demonstration in large numbers.
