It may be mentioned here that of the total 269 villages, 115 villages have already become ODF.

Hanamkonda: Efforts were on to declare Warangal Rural district as open-defecation free (ODF) by January 31. The in-charge Collector of Warangal Rural district Amrapali Kata, who held a review meeting with the officials here on Friday, told them to speed up the construction of individual sanitary latrines (ISLs). It may be mentioned here that of the total 269 villages, 115 villages have already become ODF.

She directed the officials not to delay in according sanctions to those eligible beneficiaries, besides educating the people to construct the ISLs. Further she instructed the officials to take the responsibility of expediting the construction of ISLs not only in villages they were entrusted with but also in the neighbouring villages.

Amrapali warned the officials that any lethargy in carrying out their duty would be taken seriously. Trainee Collector Santhosh, DRDO Sekhar Reddy and DPO Srinivas Reddy were among others present.
