J Anish Chandra has been selected to represent India in the International School Sport Federation’s World Schools Championship Badminton – 2018 to be held at Shree Chhatrapati Shivaji Sports Complex in Pune, Maharashtra, from April 19 to 25.

Warangal: J Anish Chandra has been selected to represent India in the International School Sport Federation’s World Schools Championship Badminton – 2018 to be held at Shree Chhatrapati Shivaji Sports Complex in Pune, Maharashtra, from April 19 to 25.

Apart from India, contingents from Bulgaria, Belgium, Brazil, China, Chinese Taipei, Croatia, Czech Republic, England, France, Georgia, Italy, Turkey and United Arab Emirates, are participating in the event. This is the first time that India is hosting a WSF Badminton Championship.

The event is organised by the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) in coordination with Maharashtra government under the aegis of International School Sport Federation.

As of now, the 17-year-old Anish Chandra is honing his skills at a camp in Aurangabad. Warangal District Badminton President S Ramesh Kumar, Secretary P Ramesh Reddy, Treasurer D Naga Kishan, members N Mohan Rao, Satyanarayana Reddy, Shobhan, Rajender, Srinivas Reddy, Kishore, Shyam, Vijay and Gopi were among others who greeted Anish on his selection.
