Around 200 police personnel led by Commissioner of Police conducted cordon and search operations here at Housing Board Colony near Three Town Police Station.
Speaking on the occasion Commissioner V B Kamalasan Reddy said that cordon and search operations are being conducted to keep check on illegal and anti-social activities for the safety of the people.
He appealed that the people take part in ‘Nenu Saitham’ programme and come forward to install CCTV cameras.
Showing a recent CCTV footage as an example, he explained the colony members about the importance of CCTV cameras.
He said that because of imposing PD Act on 34 criminals recently, the crime rate had gradually come down.
For the convenience of people, a new app called Hawk Eye is introduced, people who have smartphones must download the app, by which it would become easy for citizens to file cases without going to police station.
Advanced and high standard CCTV cameras are installed at various places in the city, as part of building smart city.
The CCTVs are linked to the Command Control Room, he added.
The She Teams are discharging their duties perfectly because of which many eve teasing cases and harassment cases against women had greatly reduced.
The people should not believe rumours that are viral on various social media platforms.
Stern actions would be taken against persons who post news or photos that creates panic among people, warned Police Commissioner.
The Karimnagar Town ACP P Venkataramana, Inspectors Tula Srinivas, Mahesh Goud, Vijay Kumar, B Rai, Reserve Inspector Johny Miya and around 200 police personnel were present in the cordon and search operations.
