Warangal: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Rahul Gandhi issued orders for the continuation of the incumbent erstwhile Warangal District Congress Committee (DCC) president Naini Rajender Reddy in the post for the third consecutive term.

In a press release issued on Friday, AICC general secretary Ashok Gehlot said that Rahul Gandhi appointed DCC presidents to seven other districts as well.

Rajender Reddy (51) had been appointed as the District Congress president first time in 2014 by the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) former chief P Lakshmaiah.

Later in the year 2015, he was again appointed to the post by the then All India Congress Committee (AICC) chief Sonia Gandhi.

He is also the honorary president of TSRTC Employees Union Warangal Region.

He worked as Warangal District President for Indian Youth Congress during 1998-2005.

He received ‘Best Youth Congress President Award’ from former Chief Minister late Dr Y S Rajashekar Reddy twice and served as the District Library chairman.

Rajender Reddy also worked as NSUI Warangal city general secretary and got elected as the president of University Arts and Science College students union in the year 1987.

In the year 2004, he established Naini Rajender Reddy Foundation through which he is carrying out charitable works.

He thanked the AICC chief Rahul Gandhi, TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy senior leaders Ponnala Lakshmaiah and Telangana In-charge R C Kuntia for continuing him in the post.

He also expressed gratitude to the party workers and leaders for their assistance in serving the party.
