Fake seeds worth 10 lakh seized; one held in Mancherial district

Mancherial: The Task Force officials nabbed a person who was allegedly indulged in transporting fake seeds here at Gandhi Park in Mancherial district on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Task Force Circle Inspector of Ramagundam Budda Swamy said that as per the orders issued by the Commissioner of Police of Ramagundam Vikram Jeet Duggal under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner of Police Vijay Sarathi (Task Force), the Task Force officials nabbed the person who was identified as Ajay Sharma, a resident of Bellampalli, transporting fake seeds to Hyderabad after illegally purchasing them from Gujarat.
Acting on a tipoff, the Task Force officials reached the Gandhi Park area where the vehicle with loads of fake seed bags worth Rs 10 lakhs was kept on the premises of Byatco Transport which was ready to be transported to Hyderabad.
The police arrested Ajay Sharma and handed him over to Macherial police station and seized the fake seeds worth Rs 10 lakhs along with the vehicle. Task Force officials Sampath Kumar, Venkateshwarlu, Shyam Sunder, Omkar and Charan were among those who conducted the raid.
