Warangal: Celestial wedding of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita was performed amidst chanting of Vedic hymns on Abhijit Lagnam in several temples in Greater Warangal and in the district on Friday.
Hundreds of devotees thronged the temples to witness the holy ritual. The city's main wedding was held at Sitaramanjaneya temple situated at Revenue Colony in Hanamkonda. District In-Charge Collector PS Pradyumna offered the 'pattu vastrams' to the deities.
Sircilla MP Rajaiah, MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar, former MLA Mandati Satyanarayana Reddy and other leaders attended the Sitarama Kalyanam. Hundreds of devotees thronged the temple to have a glimpse of the Kalyanam.
Speaking at the venue of wedding, former Hanam konda MLA M Satyanarayana Reddy said that everyone wants Rama Rajyam which means great, peaceful, prosperous and idealistic state. He prayed Rama-Sita couple for early formation of T state.
MP Sircilla Rajaiah asked the Gods to give good thoughts to the rulers so that balance between the regions is achieved until formation of T. He said that Badradri Ramudu is powerful deity and located in T region and the the Lord do good for all in the regions. Celebrations of celestial wedding were reported from Nashkal and Jeedikal in the district. There was rush of devotees witnessed at the colonies where the wedding was performed.
