Warangal: Striking 108 services contract staff held dharna at district Collectorate at Subedari in Hanamkonda on Tuesday. In a minor scuffle during the dharna, holding some activists responsible, police arrested them for violation of law and order.
Speaking to the agitators, CITU general secretary M Chukkaiah blasted the indifferent attitude of the government machinery. He asked for intervention by the district Ministers in the matter to save the situation as the hunger strike entered 5th day on Tuesday.
The employees were not getting their salaries regularly. He threatened that they have change the course of agitation if the government and GVK are not sympathetic towards their genuine demands. CITU leaders and activists led by Yada Naik, Nalla Bharathi, Rukmini, Chakrapani, M Ravi and others participated in the protest programme.
