Warangal: All of a sudden, a bride at a high pitch shouted at the bridegroom to stop tying the nuptial knot saying that she rejected the groom and directed for immediate suspension of the ongoing marriage ceremony! The guests who came for the marriage at pilgrim centre, Kodavatur Siddhulagutta in Bachchannapet mandal in the district, were distraught at the action of the bride and went away even without touching the customary lunch.

Boddula Dhanalaxmi, hailing from Aleir in Nalgonda district accepted the marriage proposals from Pendem Balakishan, hailing from same district but a native of Raghunathapuram in Rajapet mandal. The elders have decided to celebrate the wedding at a simple ceremony near famous Siddeshwara Swamy temple at Kodavatur Siddhulagutta located in the neighbouring Warangal district. According to the family sources, their earlier respective marriages were on rocks and they both were officially divorced.

After the families okayed the marriage proposal, all customary traditions were held. As per the Hindu traditions, Jilakara Bellam was applied on the bride’s head by the bridegroom and garlands were exchanged during the wedding ceremony. But, there was cinematic twist to the ceremony as bride refused the boy when he was tying Mangalasutra to her and announced her opposition to the marriage! Guests who included close relatives and friends were aghast at the turn of events. All efforts to convince the bride to fall in line had failed.
