jcEluru: West Godavari District Joint Collector Dr Baburao Naidu said that the government has increased the incentive for those who marry physically disabled from Rs 10,000 to Rs 50,000 and the administration would take all measures to implement the scheme in right earnest. He distributed tricyles to eight handicapped, hand sticks to two handicapped and an incentive of Rs 10,000 to a person who married a handicapped at the Collectorate here on Monday. He handed over an incentive of Rs 10,000 to Krishnaveni, who married a dumb person Goondabathala Satyanarayana, belonging to Gummuluru village of Akividu mandal. The number of people who married the handicapped in the district has gone up to 184 so far and measures would be taken so that the increased incentive of Rs 50000 reached them soon. Every eligible handicapped person would be given artificial limbs and physical aides, he said. He asked the people to utilise various schemes being implemented for handicapped welfare and achieve progress in life. Handicapped Welfare Department official Mariyani and others participated in the meet.
