ranksStudents from Andhra Pradesh have once again proved their mettle in the entrance examination of Vellore Institute of Technology (VITEEE), results of which were declared on Monday. AP students bagged seven out of the top ten ranks. YSSV Sashikiran of Visakhapatnam emerged top in the entrance followed by Sahil Grover of Delhi and Chunduri Promod of Hyderabad. All the top rankers from AP have studied Intermediate in Srichaitanya-Narayana colleges (CHINA batch). VIT varsity held its computer based (online) examination held in 112 cities across India along with Dubai and Kuwait between April15-24 and a total of 1,58,548 students have appeared for it. Andhra Pradesh tops the list of successful aspirants with 33,412 students, followed by Uttar Pradesh with 25,695 students and Bihar, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu with 18,812; 11,849 and 10,266 students respectively. Cities with the largest number of candidates are: Hyderabad � 12729, Delhi � 11728, Patna-9613, Kota-9296, Vijawayada-8292. This year 16,895 more students took the examination than the last year, which shows the trust of students all over the country. The counseling starts on May 13 and will end on May 18. On the first day 1-5000 rankers will have to appear; 5001-9000 on second day and so on, according to a press release. It will take place at the University's Chennai and Vellore premises simultaneously. The admission is purely based on the marks secured by the candidates in the entrance examination. The students ranked 101 � 1000 in the VITEEE will have to pay an annual fees (Tuition& Special fee) of Rs 95,000. "VIT EEE results were a demonstration of the effectiveness of our educational programmes and scientific curriculum based on decades of research" Sri Chaitanya Narayana Directors Mrs. B. Sushmasri and Dr. P. Sindhura said. This is another feather in our cap after we have decided to join hands, Sri Chaitanya Educational Institutions Founder Chairman Dr. B. S. Rao and Narayana Educational Institutions Chairman Dr. P. Narayana expressed happiness.
