Hyderabad: The students of Indus International School, Hyderabad took an initiative to train the students of Mokila Thanda and Kondakal primary schools in sports.

To see the success of training program, students of grade-11 of Indus International School organised a sports event - "Community Sports Meet" on Thursday at the sports field of Indus International School, Hyderabad

Highlights:

Students of a famous international school train govt. school students in various sports and organises sports day for them
A sum of Rs 1.5 lakh was raised via various fund raising activities to arrange sports apparel for 80 students

The Hercules House students of grade 11 from Indus International School trained the students for over a year in Cricket, Throwball and track events. They worked under Nirmay Singhania, the Hercules House Captain. As Singhania said "While training the students we realised that they did not have the basic necessities needed to play sports. We conducted various fundraising activities to procure sports dress, socks and shoes for 80 students. No financial help was taken from the schools, the students worked hard to financially self-sustain themselves and make the event successful”.

The Sports Day was initiated after Col. Satya Rao’s speech, who was the chief guest. He was delighted with the initiative taken by the students of the Hercules house and appreciated saying that such initiatives bring the neighbouring schools closer to our school.

School Principal and Vice Principal of Indus International School, Nuwaira Pasha and Mohammad Rizwan were also present at the event. The principal of the Mokila Thanda, Ramesh also joined the event. The students of the Mokila Thanda and Kondakal School did not only learn various values like discipline, team spirit and sacrifice but also enjoyed playing the sports very much.
