Hyderabad: Durgabai Deshmukh Mahila Sabha (AMS) P. Obul Reddy Public School celebrated its Annual Day over the weekend at Shilpa Kala Vedika, Hi-Tech City.
The chief guest for the occasion on Saturday was I Y R Krishna Rao, IAS (Retd) Former Chief Secretary of Govt. Of Andhra Pradesh. The guest of honour was Usha Kanda, Vice-President, Durgabai Deshmukh Mahila Sabha (AMS). On Sunday, the chief guest was Justice L Narasimha Reddy, Chairman, Central Administrative Tribunal & Chancellor, Hyderabad Central University, former Chief Justice of Patna High Court and the guest of honour was N Usha Reddy President, Durgabai Deshmukh Mahila Sabha (AMS).
S V Rao, Chairman, DDMS (AMS) P. Obul Reddy Educational Academy presided over the function on both the days. E. Narasimha Rao IRS (Retd), the Honorary Secretary and Anjali Razdan, Principal were present on both occasions.
The students of Pre-Primary and Primary of DDMS P. Obul Reddy Public School presented a bouquet of parables from across the world drawing upon the wealth of rich culture ranging from the Vedas of ancient India to the mythologies of Greece. Dance, music, colors, rhythm and motion were the five elements of life which was depicted on the first day.
The Chief Guest, I Y R Krishna Rao, in his address emphasised on the middle -class values which would enable one to lead a better life, he called upon teachers and parents to create a broader vision in the minds of children. This aspect should not be overlooked. Usha Kanda, the Vice-President, spoke on the importance of sports, music, and other co-curricular activities to shape the personality of the students.
Justice L Narasimha Reddy in his address shared the view that education in our country is of high level as it is imparted with the blend of discipline and culture. The amalgamation produces individuals with high self-esteem and self-restraint. The guest of honour N Usha Reddy praised the school management for the meticulous way in which problems and issues are dealt and sorted without seeking undue interference of anyone. The self-sufficient way by which the school is functioning is remarkable. She appreciated the school’s endeavor to promote holistic development to students.
S V Rao implored the students to focus on imbibing quality education. He felt that it is his privilege to work for the noble institution like DDMS P Obul Reddy Public School. E NarasimhaRao implored the students to spend their valuable time in exploring the wonders of nature, music, sports and games etc. They should take care of their habits and emotions, rather than spending time in harmful habits and activities. Anjali Razdan Principal in her report apprised the audience of the academic, co-curricular and sports achievements of the students.
The endowment awards were given away to Apoorva Nangia, R Surya Narayan and Sahajleen Kaur, the toppers of class XII board examinations from commerce, science and humanities streams respectively; Naman Jain, Prachi Toshniwal and Pranitha Bodipally received the awards for being the toppers in class X board exams.
