As all good things come to an end, Imran Tahir has announced that, after the 2019 World Cup, he will be retiring from 50-over cricket with a memorable, career for South Africa in the ODI format.

He made his debut as the leg-spinner for the Proteas in the 2011 World Cup and was also part of their campaign in 2015. His striking record in the World Cups is striking with 29 wickets in just 13 matches also include taking four wickets or more four times.

Tahir made his ODI debut in the 2011 World Cup against West Indies. He took 14 and 15 wickets respectively in the 2011 and 2015 World Cups.
