A web application is launched by the TRAI (The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) for cable and Direct to Home (DTH) users. This app helps them to choose channels easily and at the same time allow them to decrease their monthly bills reports the Telecom Talk.

The regulator has been criticised over the new tariff order which is effective since 31 January 2019. TRAI is trying its best to boost its new regulation regime with this move.

The Channel Selector Application will help the users adjust their choices and also inform about the MRP of selected channels. The users can pick from the app curated list of channels by following a step-by-step procedure.

Users need to fill in various details such as their state of residence, name, genre preference, among others, after which, a curated list of channels will be displayed for selection.

The app also has filters like language, broadcaster, HD/SD genre and price to allow users to select the channels they want to watch comfortably.

The latest app will be beneficial as it allows users to know the exact prices and complete information about the channels. Users need not depend on their service providers.
