216 receive 2.15 cr under Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak in Mahbubnagar
As many as 216 beneficiaries from Mahbubnagar received Rs 2.15 crore worth cheques under Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes on Friday.
Mahbubnagar: As many as 216 beneficiaries from Mahbubnagar received Rs 2.15 crore worth cheques under Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes on Friday. Excise Minister Srinivas Goud participated in the programme and distributed the cheques to beneficiaries at a programme organised at Badam Ramaswamy Sarojini Auditorium in the district.
Earlier, many newly-married couples from economically poor backgrounds from across Mahbubnagar Assembly constituency, including Mahbubnagar Rural, Hanwada and Mahbubnagar Urban mandals, had applied for Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak benefits through online e-pass portal. However, after scrutinising their documents, the district authorities found 216 persons eligible for the scheme and sanctioned Rs 1,16,000 to each couple under the scheme.
From Mahbubnagar Rural and Urban mandals, the officials selected 154 beneficiaries, while another 62 couples were selected from Hanwada mandal for extending scheme benefits. "The Shaadi Mubarak and Kalyana Lakshmi scheme launched by the State government is a revolutionary and unique scheme. Thanks to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao who had understood the plight of families they experience while getting their daughters married. Thousands of poor families from across the State have been benefited through the scheme and showered their blessings on the Chief Minister and his government. We will continue to come out with many more such unique and welfare schemes and will definitely work in the direction of making Telangana a Golden Telangana," said the Minister.
