A village in Karimnagar discovers once Jain spiritual centre in ancient time!
The district seems to be once a big centre of Jain religion, as several ancient idols of Mahavir were found in Kotlanarasimhulapalli village of Gangadhara mandal in Karimnagar district on June 13.

Two years back, the idols of 23rd Theerthankarudu Parshvanadthudi was found in the same village and on June 13, first Theerthankarudu Rushabanathudi idol was found raising the hopes in the people of Jain religion who appealed the government to start excavation works in the surrounding areas of village to trace the evidences of Jain religion.
With onset of rainy season, when one Oggu Anjaiah of the Kotlanarasimhulapalli village was carrying out agricultural operations with tractor in his fields, the idols of Varthaman Mahaveer one in meditating posture and other in standing posture had appeared.
They were with unique characteristics of Jain architecture, the curly hair and sharp features on face.
Having learnt about the idols, the villagers along with Sarpanch Thota Kavitha reached the spot and offered prayers to the idols.
Sarpanch T Kavitha conveyed the information to the officials of the Archeology department, who in turn visited the village and started study of the idols.
Oggu Anjaiah informed the officials that two years back also when he was ploughing his fields, he found a Theerthakarudu Parshvanadthudi idol which also belongs to Jain religion.
The assistant director of the Archeology Department, Nagaraju said that earlier we found traces of Jain religion in surrounding areas of famous tourists spot Bommalammagugga.
With the discovery of first Jain Mahaveer Theerthankarudu Rushabanathudi in the fields of Kotlanarasimhulapalli village, we can come to conclusion that Jain temple might have been existed in this region which would be extended in the surrounding regions.
Choppadandi MLA, Sunke Ravi Shankar, speaking to the Hans India, said that the idols which were found are unique symbols of the Jain religion. With the findings of such statue, it is evident that the surrounding region was once treated as a spiritual centre.
The information about findings of Mahaveer Jain idols was conveyed to Tourism Minister Srinivas Goud and to the District Collector. The Minister is going to visit the village to inspect the area very soon, he said.
MLA S Ravi Shankar also said that he would take the matter to the notice of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and will request him for developing the Laksminarasmiha Swamy and Veerabhadra Swamy temples situated in Kotlanarasimhulapalli village along with Kurikyala and Bommalaguttapalli of Kondannapalli villages as tourists spots.
