Awareness rally flagged off to mark World Malaria Day in Narayanpet
Marking the World Malaria Day celebrations in Narayanpet district, the District Medical and Health Officer Sowbhagya Laxmi flagged off an awareness rally and said that each and every individual must take the responsibility to eradicate the life threatening diseases like malaria, dengue, brain fever, filaria, chikungunya etc diseases which are spread through mosquitoes and various other vectors.
Narayanpet: Marking the World Malaria Day celebrations in Narayanpet district, the District Medical and Health Officer Sowbhagya Laxmi flagged off an awareness rally and said that each and every individual must take the responsibility to eradicate the life threatening diseases like malaria, dengue, brain fever, filaria, chikungunya etc diseases which are spread through mosquitoes and various other vectors.
"Unlike earlier, the incidences of malaria have drastically come down. However, there is still a lot of awareness need to be provided among the general public in the rural areas. Every individual must take preventive measures and keep their surroundings clean and neat so as to avoid mosquito breeding grounds and keep themselves away from the life threatening diseases," said the DMHO.
Apart from the awareness programme on malaria, the DMHO with the support of State health department, initiated various programmes to sensitise the public on various diseases and measures need to be taken to prevent them.
