Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) could be given the Nobel prize for turning social media into fake media, ridiculed TRS party leader and minister Harish Rao. He said that BJP is circulating false news on social media with the intention to attract voters.

Speaking to the media persons at Patancheru, Harish Rao termed the protest staged by the BJP before the election commission as a drama. "BJP has brought 12 union ministers, party national president and even the Prime Minister to the city to seek the public support for the GHMC election," Rao said. He continued that the election campaign should be done to enhance trust on democracy and the BJP is working against it.

"On the day of Dubbak bypoll, a fake video Congress leader joining TRS has been released with the logo of the news channel and even now, fake videos of TRS leaders including me joining other parties have been prepared. Also, the videos of religious riots from other countries are being shown as the incidents happened here," the minister said adding that BJP is circulating the false on social media.

He asked the citizens to be vigilant on such incidents as the BJP is likely to resort to attacks.
