Collector Vasam Venkateshwarlu dons the role of mason in Bhupalpally
In what is termed as an effort to promote individual household latrines (IHHLs), Jayashankar Bhupalpally District Collector Vasam Venkateshwarlu on Wednesday donned the role of a mason at Gori Kothapalli under Regonda mandal.
Bhupalpally: In what is termed as an effort to promote individual household latrines (IHHLs), Jayashankar Bhupalpally District Collector Vasam Venkateshwarlu on Wednesday donned the role of a mason at Gori Kothapalli under Regonda mandal. Like an expert mason he arranged the bricks in a bid to encourage the officials to focus on achieving 100 per cent construction of IHHLs.
He said that construction of 422 latrines out of the 459 sanctioned in the village was completed. He told the officials to stay in the village and complete the construction of the remaining 37 toilets in a couple of days. The Collector told the villagers not to depend on outdoor defecation, which leads to several health issues. He told the officials to take construction of IHHLs as a social responsibility. Tahsildar Srinivasa Chary, IGS APO Sunitha, Niti Ayog project officer Venkatesh were among others present.
