Congress leader Vijayashanti arrested during protest over inter results in Warangal

Warangal: TPCC campaign committee chairperson and former MP Vijayashanti has criticised the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for being insensitive towards students who were in chaos over the bungling of Intermediate results by the Board of Intermediate Education (BIE). She was in Warangal as part of State-wide protests call given by the Congress leadership.

"It took six days for KCR to react over the goof up of Intermediate results that resulted in the death of more than 20 students," she said. The police arrested Vijayashanti and other Congress leaders of the district when they took out a protest rally to Old Collectorate from Ekasila Park, dharna site.

After police took her into custody, she criticised the government for not allowing them to submit a memorandum to the Collector. "It reflects the dictatorial rule of the TRS government," Vijayashanti said. Former minister Konda Surekha and DCC president N Rajender Reddy were among others arrested by the police. The police had a tough time to control the huge number of Congress activists who gathered at the Ekasila Park. They shouted slogans against the TRS government. They also demanded the resignation of Education Minister G Jagadishwar Reddy.
