Congress senior leader Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy resigned to the party on Sunday. He sent his resignation letter to AICC chief Rahul Gandhi. He is likely to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
It is learned that Reddy will go to New Delhi today where he will join the party in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Reddy who aspired for Khammam Lok Sabha ticket is said to be upset with the Congress after it denied ticket to him. After holding discussions with his followers, he decided to quit the party.
The Congress has lost nine of its 19 state legislators to TRS along with the party senior leaders.
