Consultant shoots himself in suicide bid

Hyderabad: A person attempted suicide by shooting self with a handgun at Manchirevula near Outer Ring Road under Narsingi Police station limits on Thursday. The person has been identified as Faizan Ahmed (32).

According to Madhapur DCP A Venkateshwar Rao, Faizan Ahmed in a rented high end Benz car reached Outer Ring Road at Manchirevula at around 3 pm and fired at self with a handgun.

When the locals and commuters heard the loud sound they reached the car and noticed the victim with a gun in his hand. Immediately they informed the police.

As soon as the incident was reported, ORR patrol mobile along with 108 rushed to the spot. Later, the police officials shifted him to a nearby private hospital in Gachibowli for emergency treatment. The DCP said his condition is critical as he sustained serious head injuries.

The police seized one cell phone, gun and empty cartridges and started enquiry. Clues team and dog squad collected the evidences from the spot. They are also verifying CCTV footage.

Faizan Ahmed is a resident at Jalavayu Apartment in Lower Tank Bund and was reportedly running a US Consultancy in Panjagutta. Police suspected that financial debts were the reason behind his extreme step.

Meanwhile, designated partner of Driven By You Mobility LLP S M Jain clarified that they rented vehicle used by the victim rent since October. S M Jain informed that he knew about the incident only after watching the news on television.
