Corona update: 862 new cases, 3 deaths in Telangana

Telangana recorded 862 fresh coronavirus cases until 8 pm on Wednesday pushing the total tally to 2,66,904 while the fatalities touched to 1,444 with three new persons dying of the virus in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, around 961 persons recovered from the virus in a single day totalling the recoveries to 2,54,676.

At present, there are 10,784 active cases including 8,507 are in home or institutional isolation.

Between Tuesday and Wednesday, around 41,101 tests were conducted including 18,804 on primary contacts and 4,932 on secondary contacts. The results of 961 samples turned positive and the reports of 963 are awaited. So far, 52,89,908 tests have been conducted in the state.

The positive cases reported include 164 from GHMC, 91 Medchal Malkajgiri, 63 from Khammam, 57 from Rangareddy, 53 from Bhadradri Kothagudem, 38 from Karimnagar, 37 from Peddapalli, 35 from Nalgonda, 33 from Warangal Urban, 28 from Suryapet, 27 from Sangareddy, 26 from Mancherial, 24 from Jagtial, 20 from Siddipet, 15 from Mahabubnagar, 12 from Warangal Rural, 11 each from Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Wanaparthy and Mulugu, 10 each from Rajanna Sircilla, Mulugu, Nagarkurnool, 9 from Kamareddy, 8 each from Vikarabad, Narayanpet, Mahabubabad, 7 from Komarambheem Asifabad, 4 each from Adilabad, Jangaon, Jogulamba Gadwal, 2 from Nirmal.
