Khammam: Opposing the Citizen Amendment Bill that was tabled in Parliament, CPM leaders and workers burned the effigy of central government here in Khammam on Monday.

Addressing on the occasion, CPM district secretary Nunna Nageswara Rao said that the BJP government is targeting the Muslim community through the bill. He demanded the government to remove the religion names from the bill.

He said that the central government is showing no interest in public issues. He said, prices of essential commodities including onions are skyrocketing, but the government has not taken any action to reduce the rates. The leaders and party workers raised slogans against the central government.

CPM leaders Y Srinkanth, K Venkateswaralu, Y Vikram, Y Srinivas Rao, MA Jabbar, K Narasimha Rao, T Vishnu, T Lingaiah, Naveen Reddy, D Tirupathi Rao, Koteswarai, Ramya, B Srinu, Chiranjeevi, Guru Murthy, and Mohan Rao and others were attended the programme.
