Medak: With conditions becoming favourable for further advance of the southwest monsoon into more parts of Bay of Bengal, the day temperatures in Telangana are falling, thanks to the cloudy weather.

• Light to moderate rain or thundershowers forecast from June 19 to 22

• Warning of heavy rain lashing at isolated places seen on June 21 & 22

• Conditions becoming favourable for further advance of monsoon

While Medak recorded 39.5 degrees Celsius as the maximum temperature, Hakimpet and Dundigal saw 37.3 and 36 degrees Celsius respectively, a Met department bulletin said on Tuesday. The highest maximum temperature of 40.1 deg C was recorded in Nizamabad.

The bulletin forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers from June 19 to 22 at a few places across the State. No large change during the period June 23-25 is the weather outlook. In a warning to Telangana, the bulletin said on June 21 and 22 heavy rain was very much likely at isolated places in the State.

The rain is being attributed to the persisting upper air cyclonic circulation between 4.5 and 5.8 km above the mean sea level over the west-central Bay of Bengal off the north Andhra coast and a low-pressure area which is likely to develop over the north Bay during next 3-4 days.
