Disha rape-murder accused encounter : 3-member judicial team sets ball rolling for probe
The Supreme Court appointed three-member Judicial Commission to probe into the encounter of four accused in the sensational rape and murder case of Disha, started investigation on Monday.
Hyderabad: The Supreme Court appointed three-member Judicial Commission to probe into the encounter of four accused in the sensational rape and murder case of Disha, started investigation on Monday.
The commission headed by former Supreme Court Judge Justice VS Sirpurkar, retired judge of Bombay High Court Justice Rekha Sharma Baldote and former CBI Director DR Karthikeyan arrived in Hyderabad on Sunday night.
The commission is going to operate from the 'C Block' of the Telangana High Court premises and they have been provided CRPF security round-the-clock.
The commission members are going to inquire in detail from the missing case of Disha registered in Shamshabad police station to the charred body of her found on Chattanpally culvert under Shadnagar Police station limits.
They are also going to investigate all the aspects of sequences related to the four suspect's right from their arrest, brought to the incident spot for crime scene reconstruction and to the alleged encounter that took place at Chattanpally on December 6.
According to sources, the commission has collected the status report from the SIT chief on first day of their inquiry and are likely to question all the police officials and staff involved in the alleged encounter. The commission is going to examine the postmortem reports of the suspects and the re-postmortem report of the NHRC team.
They are likely to meet the family members of Disha and the four suspects who were killed in the encounter and reportedly going to record their statements. The commission will have to submit the report in six months' time.
