District Collector C Narayana Reddy urged the farmers to utilise the water released from Nizam Sagar without wasting even a single drop.
Nizamabad: District Collector C Narayana Reddy urged the farmers to utilise the water released from Nizam Sagar without wasting even a single drop.
After issuing a few directives to the officials of Nizam Sagar project and the representatives of farmers' associations at a meeting here on Thursday, the Collector told the officials to supply water to the crops under D 27 to D 38 distribution channels. This water will be used for the crops cultivated in lands in Kotagiri, Bodhan and Varni mandals.
He said that 1200 cusecs of water will be released per day as first instalment. The officials were directed to take action to ensure proper water distribution to all the lands.
As per the decision taken at the meeting of the Irrigation Advisory Council, District Collector Narayana Reddy urged the farmers to utilise the irrigation water released from Nizam Sagar project by D27 to D38 distribution channels from Thursday (February 20).
