Election Watch complains against MLA in Karimnagar
Alleges he threatens voters of consequences if they do not vote for TRS in MPTC polls
Karimnagar: Election Watch district convenor Naredla Srinivas has sought action against the Manakondur MLA Rasamayi Balakishan for allegedly intimidating voters during the MPTC elections.
In a complaint to the TS Election Commission, Srinivas alleged that the MLA threatened the voters of consequences if they did not vote for the TRS in the elections. During meetings held at Gangipally, Kondapalkala villages in Manakondur manda, the MLA told voters to vote for TRS otherwise he would not to allow them to avail welfare schemes.
He 'warned' voters that their works would be done only if they vote for TRS. "I have to sign if you want any assistance under 'Kalyanalaxmi' and CMRF"and others.
It is a clear case of violation of democratic rights of voters. The MLAs action is anti-constitutional and violations of Model Code of Conduct. Naredla Srinivas requested the State Election Commission to issue notice to MLA Rasamayi Balakishan seeking explanation and initiate action as per law.
