Hyderabad: In an oblique reference to ESI medicine scam that grabbed news headlines in Telangana, the speakers at the convocation of Administrative Staff College of India's Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital Management (PGDHM) of Batch (2017-19) underlined the importance of practising ethics in hospital administration.
Delivering the Convocation Address at ASCI's Banjara Hills campus here on Sunday, chief guest of the event Richard B Saldanha, a corporate management expert, said, "life is a spiritual journey. We are not here to make money, but we are here to serve society. Create value by holding on to values."
Dr KS Ratnakar, Director, Global Medical Education and Research Foundation, in his keynote address said that healthcare managers are the custodians of ethics in hospitals. "Please don't resort to ESI kind of scams because it is an utter disgrace to the noble profession."
The founder Director of NIMS Prof Kakarala Subba Rao observed that healthcare revolution is in the offing in the country and asked youngsters to make use of the opportunities created by it. The dignitaries gave away awards and certificates to the students.
