Gadwal: The Gadwal district administration has alerted its officials to get ready for the conduct of municipal elections in the district. The High Court already cleared the way by striking off all the legal petitions filed against the process of conducting elections in the municipalities in the State.

A final verdict was awaited to be released on Wednesday. The district administration of Gadwal after taking part in a video conference with the State Election Commission has directed the district authorities to get ready for the conduct of municipal elections which are expected to be held soon.

As part of this, District Collector K Shashank has directed concerned officials to get ready with the voters list and has asked them to ensure the voters list contains the names of all voters who have enrolled themselves as on July 14, 2019.

The Collector directed the officials to get ready with the polling staff and accordingly provide prior training to them so as to make them ready for the municipal elections. "As per the directions of State Election Commission, we have directed our officials to get ready with the voters list and also directed them to prepare the list of officials who will be appointed as election staff like returning officers and polling officers to conduct the elections," Collector said.

Joint Collector J Niranjan informing the State Election Commission about the preparedness of the municipal elections said that already the district administration has prepared a list of election staff and also has prepared the list of all areas where the election boots would be established.

"We have everything in place, we were waiting for the election commission notification and their orders. We are prepared well in advance to hold the municipal elections as per the directions of the State Election Commission," Joint Collector said.
