Gajaraja seva procession on May 9 : Bhadrachalam

Bhadrachalam: After a gap of 55 years, the Jeeyar Matam is gearing up to conduct Gajaraja (elephant) seva programme in the temple town on May 9.

Addressing the media in Bhadrachalam on Tuesday, Seer Ahobila Jeeyar Swamy said as part of Sri Rama Vijayothsavam, the Gajaraja seva and a procession would be conducted on Thursday.

He remembered that in 1964-65 year, seer Thridandhi Pedha Jeeyar Swamy conducted the programme and the elephant procession on a grand note. Now, after many years, the programme and procession would be conducted here by Seer Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, he said.

The seer also informed that the procession will start at the Uttara Dwaram of the Lord Rama temple which is opposite to the Mithla Stadium.

Meanwhile, the seer conducted Viswakshena puja in the evening hours on Tuesday and appealed to the people those who follow Hinduism to take part in the procession and make it a grand success.
