GiftASmileChallenge campaign proves a big hit
Well-wishers and friends of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) working president K T Rama Rao have launched a campaign ‘GiftASmileChallenge’ to mark the latter’s birthday which falls on July 24.
Hyderabad: Well-wishers and friends of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) working president K T Rama Rao have launched a campaign 'GiftASmileChallenge' to mark the latter's birthday which falls on July 24.
The campaign has already caught the eye of netizens as many are coming forward to take the challenge and challenge others.
Rama Rao's this year's birthday will be a significant one in terms of ensuring inclusiveness of different sections of people.
The well-wishers and friends of KTR and politicians have come forth to launch the campaign to motivate people to donate generously by sponsoring various programmes for the needy.
The focus is on the poor and needy people. Institutions which are catering to the needs of the poor could also be target subjects for sponsorships.
This campaign has been launched to encourage philanthropists, businessmen and those who could afford and extend service to society.
Activities on the following lines could be chosen for sponsorship including providing artificial/prosthetic limbs, blood donation camp/organ donation pledge, free meals at an orphanage/old-age home, donations to Old-age homes/orphanages, RO plants at schools/hospitals/community centre, computers, furniture, books for schools, toilets in schools, sponsoring education fee for needy students, medical treatment of the poor, hospitals (beds, wheelchairs, stretchers, diagnostic equipment), sponsor an ambulance, tree plantation under Haritha Haram, community rainwater harvesting pits, CCTV cameras to be fitted at places required.
Anybody who wants to sponsor can help someone and explain the same in the tweet and tag some of his/her friends, challenging them to extend help to at least one and ask them to tag their respective friends.
The campaign #GiftASimleChallenge would continue for a long time and there is no end date to it. However, one has to take necessary care to render the service with clean conscience and tag genuine people to take the challenge.
As part of #GiftASmileChallenge, MLC K Naveen Rao donated Rs10 lakh for an ambulance.
