Hyderabad: People of Shastripuram, a colony located at a stone's throw away from Katedan where a prowling leopard was sighted three days ago and created panic among the locals, are now frightened to venture out after news of another positive case reported from their locality.

"The officials have shifted all the six members of the family to a nearby quarantine center as a precautionary measure soon after one of the family members was found positive. We are waiting for the results of the tests of the family members and their state of health would be ascertained only after the results reach to us," informed Sanitary Supervisor Narsimha.

"The patient is a native of Solapur, Maharashtra and living at Shastripuram along with his family. He has a business at Chennai. He returned Hyderabad two days ago from Chennai. On Thursday evening he was shifted to Osmania Hospital after he developed a high fever but soon was moved to King Kothi Government Hospital. During the treatment his test reports were found positive on Saturday night and he was shifted to Gandhi hospital for further treatment. "After receiving a positive report Yesterday evening, the authorities have shifted six of the family members including two minors to a quarantine facility at Sarojini Naidu Eye Hospital today," informed Circle Inspector Mailardevpalli Police Station K Sathaiah.

Following the incident, the GHMC sanitization team began disinfections exercise near victim's house and surrounding area to arrest the infection from spreading further. Circle Inspector Mailardevpalli Police Station K Sathaiah along with other personnel visited the patient's house and took stock of the situation.t
