Hyderabad: Five held for running illegal hookah centre in Begumpet
The North Zone’s task force sleuths on Saturday conducted raid on illegal running hookah centre in a building at SD Road under the limits of Begumpet police station and arrested five persons.
Hyderabad: The North Zone's task force sleuths on Saturday conducted raid on illegal running hookah centre in a building at SD Road under the limits of Begumpet police station and arrested five persons.
The accused identified as D Lokesh (25), P Shiva Kumar (27), Manas (21), Thang Zloulin (20) and P Vinod (28). They seized net cash of Rs 20,000, 10 hookah pots and other material from them.
The accused Lokesh and Shiva Kumar were organising hookah centre without valid permission from concerned authorities and have engaged three suppliers, who were mixing the hookah flavours containing Nicotine and serving to customers.
They were allowing minors into the hookah centre and were also serving hookah tobacco to customers in the no-smoking areas by violating the rules under COTP Act and Hyderabad CP Act.
The arrested accused along with the seized material handed over to Begumpet police for further action.
