Addressing the monthly convergence meeting, hosted by Hyderabad Collector at GHMC Head Office on Saturday, the GHMC Commissioner asked the officials to provide speed limit sign boards in order to avoid accidents and regulate the traffic as most of the city roads are suitable for 40 kms speed limit.

He also asked them to inform and share the any new proposals of any departments among themselves so that the other utilities not damaged and hamper the developmental works. All road cutting proposals and estimates can be submitted to the CRMP agencies so that they execute the works immediately.

Meanwhile, the police officials said that nearly 31 per cent of accident victims were pedestrians and they asked the HMR officials to raise the height of central median grills in order to regulate pedestrian movement and prevent cross over as most of the accidents are occurring while crossing the road over central medians particularly in Kukatpally and Serilingampally areas. On illumination of dark spots, the GHMC Commissioner asked the officials to complete it by 29th of this month.

Further, Lokesh Kumar instructed the officials to share the data on allotment of houses under JNNURM and VAMBAY from 2000 till date so as to eliminate the duplication.

He asked the Discom officials to connect the power generation to the grid so that the solar power generation would commence on GHMC buildings. Issues of shifting of electric poles and improvement of footpath have come up for discussion and also on notification of parking places at metro rail stations.

All the water and drainage works will be handed over to HMWS&SB for maintenance. On the request of HMWS&SB officials not to lay penalties on water tankers as it is essential commodity, the police officials agreed and said no penalty would be laid on parking and no entries.

Hyderabad Collector Swetha Mohanty, GHMC Additional Commissioners Dr Priyanka Ala, Badhavath Santhosh, Rahul Raj and Shankaraiah, Zonal Commissioners P Pravinya Reddy, Srinivas Reddy, Ravi Kiran and Mamatha, Additional Police Commissioner Anil Kumar, Chief Engineer Ziauddin and other senior officials of HRDCL, Discom, HMWS&SB, HMR and Police departments attended the meeting.
