Hyderabad: Former MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha came to the rescue of a Dubai returnee who lost his wife and daughter in an accident. Potarajula Srinivas, a native of Lakshettipet village in Mancherial district working in Dubai, lost his wife and daughter in a road accident on the May 15, while returning home from work.
Srinivas viewed the final rites of his wife and daughter via video call from Dubai. Srinivas, who reached Hyderabad last night and was put under institutional quarantine in Hyderabad.
Emirates Telangana Cultural Association member P Kiran Kumar tweeted the issue to Kavitha and requested her help. Responding to this, Kavitha requested the Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar and DGP Mahendar Reddy to allow Srinivas to visit the family and pay condolences.
Kavitha arranged transportation for Srinivas to reach his hometown to visit his family. On reaching Lakshettipet from Hyderabad, Srinivas accompanied by police and local officials, visited his home, paid his tributes to the deceased and returned to the quarantine again.
