The Director-General of Telangana Special Protection Force, Tejdeep Kaur on Saturday said many efforts were being made to protect Pedda Cheruvu in the Ameenpur area of Sangareddy district.
Ameenpur: The Director-General of Telangana Special Protection Force, Tejdeep Kaur on Saturday said many efforts were being made to protect Pedda Cheruvu in the Ameenpur area of Sangareddy district. As part of the efforts, the Ameenpur Utsav 20-20 was being organised by the Special Protection Force, she said, while participating in the programme. The DG pointed out that Pedda Cheruvu had won recognition across the country for its biodiversity. She said essay-writing and rangoli competitions were being conducted for students for creating awareness for ushering in more development and protection of the water body.
Tejdeep Kaur announced that Rs 3 crore has been allocated by the Irrigation department for the protection and development of Pedda Cheruvu, where many varieties of migratory birds from foreign countries could be found. Hence, she was striving for its development.
