Gachibowli: As per the directions issued by Government of India, UGC, and Government of Telangana in order to prevent spread of Corona Virus (COVID-19), the Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) has suspended classroom teaching at its Headquarters and off-campuses from March 16 to 31, 2020.

The decision was taken in a meeting of Deans, Directors, and Head of Departments held Monday morning.

Hostel students are advised to return home by March 20 to avoid gathering in hostels and to take adequate precautions. However, teachers will remain available to the students as per their respective timetables through e-resources to ensure that their studies are not being affected.

Teachers and non-teaching staff will perform their duties with precautionary measures as per the UGC advisory communicated to them. All meetings such as seminars and conferences shall also stand canceled till further orders.

The medical officers of the university are directed to ensure that the students, faculty and non-teaching staff are sensitised properly and to take effective measures towards prevention of COVID-19.

PhD awarded by MANUU

Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University has declared Ayesha Jabeen qualified in Doctor of Philosophy in Women Studies. She has worked on the topic, 'A critical review of Muslim women's Familial issues - with special reference to the role of Darul Qazat and Family Courts of Hyderabad city,' under the supervision of Dr Ameena Tahseen, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Women Education, MANUU.

Gachibowli: The Maulana Azad National Urdu University declared Najma Sultana qualified in Doctor of Philosophy in Women Studies. She worked on the topic 'Educational Status of Muslim women (A critical review in perspective of Sachar Committee report with - reference to Ranga Reddy District of Telangana)' under the supervision of Dr Ameena Tahseen, Assistant Professor, Department of Women Education, MANUU.
