Malik was booked under sections 143 and 149 (unlawful assembly), besides 290 (public nuisance) and 341 (wrongful restraint) of the Indian Penal Code besides relevant sections of the Hyderabad City Police Act.
The police gave permission for a gathering of 1000 people, but several rallies were taken out throwing the traffic out of gear. Also, thousands of people gathered at the Dharna Chowk which can only handle around 500 to 600 people.
The notice is yet to be served to Malik seeking an explanation.
