Hyderabad: Minister Srinivas Goud unveils Kabaddi-III Trophy

Lakdikapul: State Sports and Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud on Friday unveiled the Telangana Premier Kabaddi Season-III Trophy in Ravindra Bharathi here, along with the organisers . He announced that the season III matches would be conducted in Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy stadium from February 22 to March 14. Addressing the gathering, Goud stated that sportspersons in rural areas were coming to limelight thanks to the Telangana Premiere League. He hailed Telangana sports persons for taking sporting events to the national and international levels and hoped that they bring medals in the Olympic games. The minister stated that the TRS government headed by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was striving to give encouragement to sports. Incentives to sportsmen in the form of reservations to two % and 0.5 % in higher education were being given. He stated that the state sports department was also providing incentives and encouragement to Telangana sports persons, while describing kadaddi as an ancient sport. The minister advised youth to show interest in sporting activities, along with studies.
Goud called upon sports persons to bring a good name to the State by winning laurels in national and international events.
Among those present on the occasion were League Convener Sanjay Reddy, Ranga Reddy team owner Srinivas Reddy, besides officials of the Tourism and Sports departments.
