Hyderabad: The 15th Finance Commission applauded the Telangana State government for taking many initiatives in the implementation of the single tax regime -GST brought into force in 2017 in the country.
The Commission member Ajay Narayan Jha called on State Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar at the Secretariat where officials gave a presentation on the steps taken for effective enforcement of the GST mainly rationalization of circles, setting up of economic intelligence units, strategic tax units, use of different modules, apps and use of IT etc.
Jha complimented the State initiatives for collecting taxes without errors. The Commission member noted various suggestions, advices received during the meeting and also discussed IGST data-sharing, Central and State coordination, incentives to best performing States etc.
Principal Secretary to Finance K Rama Krishna Rao and others were also present.
