Speaking at an awareness programme at Nizamabad Women's College on Tuesday, the Police Commissioner asked the women to dial 181 if they want shelter and urged adolescent students to immediately contact the police by dialling 100 in case of harassment in college, workplace, bus stand or anywhere.

He said that Nizamabad police is maintaining Facebook account 'sheteam.nizamabad' and Twitter account 'cp_nizamabad'. Also, victims can send their complaints to 'sheteamwomennzb@gmail.com' and also can send messages via WhatsApp to the number 9490618029.

The Police Commissioner said that She Team awareness programme is underway in Armoor and Banswada divisions. Informing that it is a crime to take the law into their hands, he said the police can nab the criminals if they were informed of the crime immediately. He said that pamphlets and wallposters of She Teams will be supplied to mandal headquarter and gram panchayats and at least one sticker in each habitation to make it visible to everyone.

Sakhi councillor B Kavitha observed that normally no one notice their surroundings as they are busy with either chatting or listening to music on phone. She suggested girls to observe their surroundings whenever they go out.

CCS Traffic ACPs Srinivasa Kumar, T Swamy, Prabhakar Rao, CIs Naresh and Anjaneyulu, students of various colleges attended the awareness programme. The police cultural team performed drama with the main theme of accidents and sexual assault against women.
